Today we have witnessed the baptizing ceremony of tulip 'King Charles lll' in the presence of Her Excellency Joanna Roper CMG, ambassador of the UK in the Netherlands, and Sandra Bechtholt, CEO of Keukenhof, who facilitated this event.The ambassador planted the bulbs in the Keukenhof in autumn and baptized the tulips herself.

This yellow orange triumph tulip, with red rose shades was hybridized by John Nijssen from Hybris BV, the son of the hybridizer of tulip 'Queen Elizabeth ll', mother of King Charles lll, that was introduced in 1952.

Onings Holland Flowerbulbs has already tested this new variety in Japan, to study the characteristics. Bulbs of tulip 'King Charles lll' will be available in the near future at Onings Holland Flowerbulbs.

@dutchlilydays 2024 will begin in less than 8 weeks! Between June 4-7, hundreds of different varieties and thousands of different trials are flowering in our test greenhouse.

We are also thrilled to show you our Amaryllis and potlily show. @lentizmbo_westland will again fill our patio with many flower arrangements. And we have also planted additional trials for trying out different treatments.

Onings Spinningmarathon levert € 7.200 op voor het goede doel

In aanloop naar De Westlandse Ride, die dit jaar op 25 en 26 mei plaatsvindt bij Westland Wil Vooruit, had Team Onings op 29 maart weer een spinningmarathon georganiseerd in de hal van Onings Holland Flowerbulbs in Poeldijk. Deze avond leverde een prachtig totaalbedrag op van € 7.200.

In een tot spinningpaleis omgetoverde hal mochten deelnemers voor € 20 een uur meespinnen. Sommige fanatieke renners hebben zelfs 3 uur lang op de spinningfiets gezeten. Na het spinnen kon het vochtgehalte weer op peil worden gebracht in de kantine, waar de opbrengst van de drank ook rechtstreeks naar het goede doel ging.

Het bedrijf Onings Holland Flowerbulbs deed nog een extra duit in het zakje door in de middag met alle collega’s en enkele meegebrachte familieleden een uur te spinnen. Hiermee stond de teller al op € 2.450 voordat de marathon in de avond begon.

Het totaalbedrag wordt opgeteld in de pot van Team Onings, die met 4 teams wederom meedoet aan De Westlandse Ride; een estafettetocht waar wielrenners 6 x 30 kilometer door het Westland fietsen binnen 24 uur. Team Onings heeft al eerder geld opgehaald door middel van het verkopen van bloembollen. Het eindbedrag van Team Onings wordt tijdens De Westlandse Ride bekend gemaakt.

It is a feast for every family with kids at time of Saint Nicolas. That is why all the childeren with a (grand) parent working at Onings can come and get a present from Saint Nicolas himself.
