2 weeks ago, South-East Asia celebrated nea year. Traditionally with a lot of flowers. Every year it is a challenge for the growers to get the flowers on time and to get a good price. New year determines a big part of their yearly profit.
In some regions, the cold weather slowed down the growth of the flowers a bit too much. In other areas there was a surplus of flowers on the market. Luckily there are also some markets where the flowers were right on time and were sold for a good price.
Flowers are traditionally used during lunar new year for praying and worshippig at altars and pagodas. But more and more flowers are also used for home decorations during all kinds of celebrations and festivals. 🧧
